Reduction in Enteroccocus faecalis counts produced by three file systems in severely curved canals

Aim: This study evaluated the effectiveness of mechanical reduction intracanal bacteria produced by endodontic systems Reciproc Blue (VDW GmbH), XP-Endo Shaper (FKG Dentaire) and ProTaper Next (Dentsply Sirona Endodontics) in severely curved canals culture analysis. Methodology: Fifty mesiobuccal mandibular molars were selected instrumented. Following this, six specimens as control, while 44 contaminated with Enterococcus faecalis strains (ATCC 29212). Specimens incubated for 21 days at 37 ºC. Then, randomly divided into 3 groups (n=14): (G1), (G2) (G3). Control Group: Six non-contaminated prepared one file (n=2). Microbial samples obtained before (S1) after root canal preparation (S2). Two roots observed using scanning electron microscopy to verify biofilm formation. Quantitative analyses E. was performed CFUs, Wilcoxon test used intragroup analysis, intergroup analysis Kruskal-Wallis test. The level significance all set P < .05. Results: All presented effective bacterial (p<0.05), but still had growth. displayed highest (P<0.05), similar results (P>0.05). showed greatest antibacterial action when compared systems. Conclusion: No instrumentation system rendered completely free from bacteria.
